Second Edition
Done in Béjaia, Saturday 17th, 2022
Art 01: The competition is open to the lawyers enrolled in one of the regional bar associations. Knowing that their professional experience does not exceed 10 years on the date of the finals( December 17th, 2022).
Art 02: All candidates must prove their enrollment in one of the regional bar associations during the submission of their applications.
Omitted lawyers or those who ceased working even temporarily, are not eligible to participate in this competition.
Art 03: The trial advocacy can be performed in Arabic, Tamazight or French.
Art 04: The presented trial advocacy is about a real or hypothetical situation, it centers on one of the following subjects:

Migrant smuggling.

Child rights.
-
Violence against women.
-
Right of defence.
-
Crime against nature.
-
Imitation
-
Trafficking in persons and organs..

Investment protection.
-in case of any trial advocacy of a real situation( national or international), the organizing committee owns the ability to ask the candidate for further details in order to reach the fact( journalistic article, argument or decision..).
Art 05: During the oral or written trial advocacy, the principals of the national and international law and deontology should be respected.
Art 06: The due date for submitting the applications is by Sunday, November 22th, 2022 at 23:59.
Art 07: The applications sent, must contain these documents:
- The written trial advocacy( word file).
- A copy of the professional card.
- A copy of certificate of practice.
- A copy of the national identity card.
Art 08: the trial advocacy is final and it is not open to any modifications once it is submitted.
Art 09: The trial advocacy presented in the finals on December 17th, 2022 must be the same as the one sent to the organizers via email.
Art 10: The first eight qualified lawyers in the competition are selected by the supervisory committee chaired by the bar council in Béjaia.
Art 11: The finalists are to be informed of the results on December 4th, 2022.
Art 12: The supervisory committee of the national trial advocacy competition is composed of 18 members appointed by the bar council in Béjaia.
Art 13: The finals are to be held on Sunday 17th, 2022. The eight qualified lawyers must deliver their advocacy publicly in front of the jury.
Art 14: The arbitration committee is composed of 09 members appointed by the bar council in Béjaia.
The organizing committee of the competition consists of members of the bar association in Béjaia.
Art 15: in the finals, lawyers deliver their trial advocacy in a uniform( Jebbah).
The order of trial advocacy is determined by lot.
Art 16: The finalists must take into consideration that the duration of the oral advocacy is about 15mns , or else this will lead to exclusions.
Art 17: Candidates are to be assessed based on three criteria, as follow:
- The significance of law.
- The general construction of trial advocacy.
- The lawyer’s performance.
Art 18: After the arbitration committee’s deliberation proceeds the awards ceremony.
Art 19: The regional bar association in Béjaia will be in charge of accommodation and food for the finalists.
- Any additional expenses are the responsibility of the finalists.
Art 20: The qualified lawyers in the finals pledge to accept the press’s request for interviews.
- The texts of the trial advocacy , photos, and films are a private property of the bar association in Béjaia; however, this can particularly be used for promotions of further editions.
Art 21: The three finalists are rewarded by the bar association in Béjaia.
Art 22: In case of any unforeseeable circumstances, the bar council owns the ability to cancel the national trial advocacy competition.

NB: the bar association and bar council are more used in western contexts , however, they can be left as ‘’ ordre régional des avocats” and “ conseil de l’ordre régional”.
