This statement generally applies to legal professions and specifically to our noble, independent, and free profession, which aims to uphold the rights of defense, respect the rule of law, and contribute to the work of justice.
The legal profession cannot adapt using old management methods while the world is changing and evolving. Therefore, the legal community must address this transformation to keep up with the 21st century of modernization and digitization.
On July 12, 2009, the regional organization of lawyers in Bejaia was established, with more than 1,200 lawyers, aiming to contribute to the advancement of the profession while considering modern management requirements.
We are invited to support the digitization of the profession's management, as the era of using paper is nearing its end, to be replaced by the era of electronic signatures and links for sending contractual and procedural documents.
Law No. 15/03 and 15/04 dated 01/02/2015 related to modernizing justice and electronic signatures impose a deep change on our profession to keep up with the changes, especially the use of electronic communication links and holding conferences via video conferencing technology, which address important legal issues embodied in the concept of a fair trial.
These laws also clarify the concept of electronic signatures as a reliable procedure for identifying legal and non-legal pleadings and actions, in addition to the rules set out in the Code of Criminal Procedure and the Code of Civil and Administrative Procedures.
The Bejaia Bar Association, believing in the need to implement the digitization project for modern administrative management and improving services, and facilitating the performance of our colleagues' duties and addressing their daily concerns, calls on all colleagues to enrich the content of this website to ensure continuous communication between the Bar Council and the lawyers, to avoid repeating past practices that led to a break in the unity of the legal community.
